Born 01. 10. 1958 in Tartu, ESTONIA.
Graduated from the Estonian Art University in 1982, speciality: industrial design.
Works: 1978 - 1995 : posters,
trade marks , company design, variety of advertising media, exposition and interior design , prefabricated log houses ; exposition of herbarium
also architectural
scale model s.
Intaglio printing s: 1994 - "Kunda Nordic Cement" ordered an etching,
to commemorate the opening of the new Port of Kunda;
1995 - "Teede REV 2" an Estonian road-building firm purchased an etching,
which presented a panorama of roads and landscapes of the Harju County, Estonia.
1996 - "Via Pont" - a company, specialised in bridge building,
ordered an etching narrating the history of bridge-building in Estonia.
2000 - Silberauto AS, Main Office of DaimlerChrysler in Estonia
commissioned an intaglio for occasion of the 10th anniversary
of representing of Mercedes-Benz in Estonia.

Silk-painting since summer 1993. About ten silk paintings have been reproduced and published by Paletti and Huma as
postcards .
Three of them were chosen to be the official
Christmas cards
of the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia in 1998-2000.
In 1999 V.L. designed the official Christmas card for the Riigikogu / Estonian
Parliament .

Solo exhibitions :
1997 - Tallinn,
hotel "Olympia" (silk paintings), 1998 - Tallinn, on the premises of the Mercedes-Benz Estonia (photos). Drawing s and photo s on display at Teede REV-2, silk paintings at Via Pont, both in Tallinn.
1998 - the Estonian State Chancellery commissioned a
medal design, dedicated to the resistance movement of 1941-1978 against soviet terror.
2000 - taught a silk painting class for advanced level in Tampere, Finland.

2004-2005  - Design of the permanent exhibition 1939-1949 at the Saaremaa Museum (Kuressaare Castle, 13th-14th Century) - construction, lighting, layout.

2008 - Translucent glass walls and watercolour painting on linen in the Morobell office in Haapsalu, Estonia; INTERNATIONAL WATERCOLOUR BIENNIAL "Baltic Bridges. Displacements" in Kaunas, Lithuania

2006-2011  - Design of the permanent exhibition of the nearest past (1950-1994) at the Saaremaa Museum - interpretation, construction, lighting, layout.

2011 - Sunset - movie clip,
dedicated to his partner in life and creation, wife and teacher Kai Vaarandi
