Saaremaa Muuseumi ajaloo-osakonna püsinäitus: Saaremaa aastail 1939-1949  avati Kuressaare linnuses 12.septembril 2005 kell 14.00 muuseumi 140.-ndale aastapäevale pühendatud konverentsi raames.	The  Saaremaa Museum history department was opened up the permanent exhibition displaying a collection of arms, uniforms, documents, etc. of the years 1939-1949, on Monday, 12 Sept., 2005, at 2 p.m. in three newly refurbished rooms of the Kuressaare castle; and held a conference to celebrate the 140th anniversary of the Museum.
Nõukogude sõjaväebaaside kaardi Saaremaa osa        A remarkable Map of Soviet military bases at Saaremaa
esitatakse avalikkusele esmakordselt. Kaardi originaali kasutati 28.09.1939 Eesti Vabariigi ja Nõukogude Liidu vahelise baaside lepingu salajase lisa ettevalmistamisel. Kaardi päritolu selgus koostöös Raul Salumäe ja Eesti Rahvusraamatukogu kartograafiaosakonna töötajatega. Püsinäituse ajalõigust 1939-49 koostas Saaremaa Muuseumi osakonnajuhataja Raul Salumäe kujundas kunstnik Vello Laanemaa teostas Kalla Mööbel OÜ.	is displayed to the public for the first time. This map was prepared for the negotiations between the Soviet Union and the Estonian Republic, and was used to work out the secret attachment of the notorious Pact of Defence and Mutual Assistance (Sept. 28th 1939). The origin of the map was found out in co-operation with historian Raul Salumäe and the workers of the cartographic department of the National Library of Estonia. This part of the permanent exhibition (1939-49) was compiled by manager of exhibitions and public relations of Saaremaa Museum Raul Salumäe designed by artist Vello Laanemaa constructed by Kalla Mööbel OÜ.

Kai Vaarandi disainis võistlustantsukleidi sallid, millega esines Teele Kruuse (partner Ben Taylor)   edukalt Bournemouthi Suvefestivalil 2005  , tulles oma vanuseklassis esikümnesse.

Kai Vaarandi designed ballroom dress scarves for dancer Teele Kruuse (partner Ben Taylor). The couple performed successfully at  Bournemouth Summer Festival 2005
